Match Preview

The last game of the round sees Ajax travel to Zwolle for what has the makings of a good Eredivisie clash. Second-placed Ajax must not put a foot wrong for the rest of the campaign if they want to retain any title hopes, while Zwolle will want to strengthen their grip on a Europa League place.
Zwolle have proven quite the surprise package this term, although their early season form seems to have simmered right down in recent weeks. They have lost three of their last five Eredivisie games although remain in a tight fifth-position.
Zwolle have held their own at home this season, having only lost to PSV and Vitesse all season – whilst notching memorable draws against top three side AZ and defending champions Feyenoord, they are no pushovers by any means.
Despite Hakim Ziyech, whose great form all season for Ajax has seen him bag six goals and eight assists, the Amsterdammers have been struggling to catch league leaders PSV. However, Erik ten Hag’s good man management seems to be keeping them in the mix. Will ‘lucky, lucky’ Ajax be so lucky today against one of the leagues stronger outfits?
Players to watch: Much has been spoken about Ajax prospect Justin Kluivert in recent weeks, with speculation growing by the day! He scored Ajax’s fastest goal of the season last time out against Twente after just three minutes!
Mustafa Saymak (PEC) remains the top scorer with nine goals; he has notched in each of his last two appearances since returning from injury.
Stat attack: Over 2.5 goals have been scored in 16 of Ajax’s last 18 league games, they have won eight of their last nine – drawing the other.
Ajax have won each of the last five games against Zwolle, and managed to score 3+ goals in the last four games.

Odd: 1.53

Match Result: 1:0(0:0) LOST

Match Preview

Feyenoord welcome Heracles to De Kuip as their Champions League dreams look all but shattered having received two red cards and a 3-1 drubbing at Vitesse last time out.
Twelve points and seven places separate the sides ahead of the round as Heracles sit in mid table, seemingly safe from relegation and unrealistically far from the top six – their season may have just fizzled out into obscurity.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s head has been called for in some local circles as the champions are a massive 22 points adrift from the leaders ahead of this round.
Sporting Director Jan de Jong insists that Feyenoord take an “Arsenal-esque” approach to their manager and are willing to give the Dutchman more time to right the wrongs of this season.
John Stegeman adds to the list of Eredivisie managers leaving at the end of the campaign which he confirmed in the week.
Stegeman has occupied the Heracles hot seat for the last four campaigns, qualifying for Europe in 2015/’16 having took the Almeloans away from the drop zone.
Players to watchSteven Berghuis (FEY) has two assists in his last two appearances, and has been directly involved in more goals than any other Eredivisie player this season (12 goals, eight assists).
Vincent Vermeij (HER) has scored three goals in his last four appearances, including his last two – the young forward has five for the season and looks to be improving.
Stat attack: There have been over 2.5 goals scored in each of the last eight meetings between these sides at De Kuip, Feyenoord were winning at half-time and full-time in seven of those games.
Heracles have lost eight of their last ten away games, and have conceded 3+ goals in seven of their last eight away from home (Eredivisie)!

Match Preview: AC Milan 1-0 Sampdoria Predictions and Betting Tips, Italy (Serie A)

AC Milan – Sampdoria Tips & Predictions For Today, February 18, 2018.
League: Italy – Serie A
Kick-off: 20:45
Tip: Under 3.5 Goal
Odd: 1.50
Bookmaker: BetFair
Match Result: 1:0 WON!!!

Match Preview

Sunday’s late Serie A (SA) game sees two improving sides go head to head in a game both will be desperate to win to boost their European qualification chances.
After a rough start to his tenure as coach, Gennaro Gattuso has finally got the players to buy into his all-or-nothing style. The team has now gone nine games in all competitions without defeat (W6, D3) and are just one game away from the Coppa Italia final.
Regarding his team’s new found resilience and how they need to approach games, Gattuso said this week that: “We’re not Brad Pitt, we have to continue being as ugly as me and my beard!!”
Coming into the round, Sampdoria occupy the last Europa League place and sit three points and one place ahead of the Rossoneri. After a disastrous run in December, Sampdoria picked up after the winter break and have now gone five games unbeaten (W3, D2) – a run that included a fine 1-0 away win at Roma!
In terms of the H2H, Sampdoria have won their last two games, including a 2-0 victory in the reverse fixture earlier this season. Before those two games, Sampdoria went nine games without a win against Milan.
Players to watch: Fabio Quagliarella scored in his last game and now has 17 goals in SA this season. For all his goals in SA, he hasn’t scored a goal against Milan since October 2010.
With no decent goalscorer to speak of, Milan will look to their defence and Leonardo Bonucci in particular.
Stat attack: The last five games between the sides have all produced under 2.5 goals and seen one team score in each game. In fact, those same two facts also apply to ten of the last 12!
Four of Sampdoria’s last seven games away have ended 3-2 to the home side.
It came out this week that Gattuso is the lowest paid manager in SA.

Match Preview: Napoli 1-0 Spal Predictions and Betting Tips, Italy (Serie A)

Napoli – Spal Tips & Predictions For Today, February 18, 2018.
League: Italy – Serie A
Kick-off: 15:00
Tip: HT/FT – 1/1
Odd: 1.53
Bookmaker: bwin
Match Result: 1:0 LOST

Match Preview

In the reverse fixture earlier this season Napoli had a scare when Spal opened the scoring early on before Napoli battled back to win 3-2 late on. They will be hoping for a far more comfortable result here at home.
An unlikely win in this round could see relegation threatened Spal reach just one point off of safety (17th position) – if Crotone lose to Serie A’s (SA) worst team, Benevento.
Napoli tasted their heaviest defeat at home this year in a mid-week Europa League (EL) fixture. The 3-1 loss to RB Leipzig could have taken a toll on the first teamers who started. Can Spal use Napoli’s failure and fatigue to gain a win?
Juventus will be crossing their fingers for a Spal win, as Napoli have been one point ahead of Juventus since round 17.
Players to watch: Belgium striker Dries Mertens did not feature in Napoli’s EL loss – and with five goals in his last four SA games, he will no doubt be fit and ready to score more this round.
Mirco Antenucci, Spal’s 33-year-old top scorer with six goals and six assists, has not scored in his last four games. Can he prove he has what it takes to score against the league leaders?
Stat attack: Napoli tend to dominate their opposition in terms of possession. This season their average possession per game is 59.6%, which is also coupled with the highest pass succession rate in SA (88%).
Spal have conceded six penalties this season and have fouled their opponents more than any other them in SA (average of 17 fouls per game).
Spal have just one away win in SA this season and score an average of just 0.67 goals per game on their travels.
Napoli, on the other hand, have lost just once at home and score on average 2.42 per game there.

Match Preview: Eibar 0-2 Barcelona Predictions and Betting Tips, Spain (LaLiga Santander)

Eibar – Barcelona Tips & Predictions For Today, February 17, 2018.
League: Spain – LaLiga Santander
Kick-off: 16:15
Tip: Away Win
Odd: 1.50
Bookmaker: BetVictor
Match Result: 0:2 WON!!!

Match Preview

Sitting just outside the Europa League places, Eibar have the unenviable task of taking on a Barcelona side romping its way to the La Liga (LL) title. Despite that, there may be an opportunity for Eibar here, given that Barcelona may now be focusing more on the Champions League.
Barcelona were unable to break through last weekend versus Getafe at the Camp Nou (0-0). This result has left a seven-point gap between Barcelona and second-placed Atletico Madrid.
So far this season, only three teams have won at the Ipurua Stadium: Athletic Bilbao, Celta and Atletico Madrid. Much of this is down to the fact that Eibar have allowed opponents to take just 181 shots against them this season, which is impressively below the LL average.
The above stat could be put to a severe test in this one, however. Barcelona’s last three visits to the Ipurua Stadium have produced three wins for the decorated Catalans, with an aggregate score of Eibar 0-10 Barcelona.
Leading at half-time could be important for either team. They have led at half-time in a combined total of 15 LL games this season, with every single one resulting in a victory for both sides.
Players to watch: Eibar striker Kike García has found the back of the net in his last two home games. In total, the Spaniard has scored three in his last four LL matches.
Lionel Messi hasn’t scored in his last four competitive matches, but his record against Eibar is excellent. The Argentina international has scored 12 in his last six matches against the Basque side.
Stat attack: Eibar’s overall recent record against Barcelona is pretty dreadful. They have lost seven games out of seven since 2014/15, conceding 26 goals and only scoring four.
Eibar have also been leaky at home of late, not keeping a clean sheet on their own turf in six home LL games.

Match Preview: PSV 2-2 Heerenveen Predictions and Betting Tips, Netherlands (Eredivisie)

PSV – Heerenveen Tips & Predictions For Today, February 17, 2018.
League: Netherlands – Eredivisie
Kick-off: 19:45
Tip: Home Win
Odd: 1.35
Bookmaker: Unibet
Match Result: 2:2 LOST

Match Preview

PSV show no signs of faltering in their march for the Eredivisie title and are now on a seven-game winning streak in the league. They come up against arguably the most inconsistent side in the top half in Heerenveen.
Heerenveen have the worst goal difference in the top half of the table (-4). Ahead of this round of fixtures, eight places and a staggering 30 points separate these two sides! Heerenveen can only hope to regain their early season form to keep any slim hopes of European qualification alive.
Jurgen Streppel masterminded a shock 2-0 victory over PSV in the reverse fixture back in September. They remain one of only two teams to beat the league leaders this season, the other loss coming away to Ajax – a great achievement for the Super Frisians!
Travelling away to the Philips Stadion requires a completely different mindset however, and it will be almost nine years to the day since Heerenveen last won here (27/02/09). PSV have lost at home just once to Heerenveen in the last 18 meetings in all competitions (W13, D4, L1).
Players to watchHirving Lozano (PSV) will be keen to add to his league-topping tally of 13 goals and six assists. He was sent off early in the reverse fixture and has a point to prove here.
Reza Ghoochannejhad (HEE) is a joint leading scorer with just four goals to his name, in a way this typifies Heerenveense problems going forward. He did score in their last away fixture against Zwolle however, and will hope to make an impact here.
Stat attack: PSV have won their last 22 consecutive home Eredivisie games – a club record. Can they extend it?
PSV have kept clean sheets in eight of their last ten home league games, and have scored 2+ goals in seven of their last eight, home and away!
Heerenveen are winless in their last five away league games; both teams found the net in each of these fixtures.

Match Preview: Vitesse 1-2 Excelsior Predictions and Betting Tips, Netherlands (Eredivisie)

Vitesse – Excelsior Tips & Predictions For Today, February 17, 2018.
League: Netherlands – Eredivisie
Kick-off: 18:30
Tip: Home Win
Odd: 1.39
Bookmaker: bet365
Match Result: 1:2 LOST

Match Preview

We kick off Saturday’s Eredivisie action with a game that’s arguably more important for the hosts than their visitors. Vitesse are in high spirits coming into this game after sweeping aside defending champions Feyenoord 3-1 here at the GelreDome last time out.
Excelsior are stuck in the mire of mid-table, and although they are nine points clear of the bottom three, their form must improve if they don’t want to be looking over their shoulders. The Rotterdammers have won just two of their last 12 Eredivisie games.
Vitesse could foreseeably move up to fourth place with a victory here, they are just seven points behind the Champions League (CL) placings. However, this is the first fixture of the day and results elsewhere could determine their CL future.
The Arnhemmers are looking to make it a league double over Excelsior having easily contained them during a 3-0 victory in the reverse fixture. Top scorer Tim Matavz is unavailable following a belated suspension so Bryan Linssen is expected to start in his place.
Players to watchBryan Linssen (VIT) has nine goals during this campaign so far and is more than capable of replacing their first choice striker – he looks set to overtake Matavz for the top scorer accolade following his brace against Feyenoord last time out!
Nineteen-year-old Englishman Mason Mount (EXC) has been a revelation this term; on loan from Chelsea, he has managed six goals and two assists so far.
Stat attack: Vitesse have lost only twice at home all season, both to top three sides (W4, D5, L2) whilst Excelsior have drawn just once on the road all season (W5, D1, L5).
Six of the last eight meetings between the sides have produced over 2.5 goals in total, just four of these games saw both teams scoring.
In four attempts since the 2010/11 season, Excelsior have not tasted victory at the GelreDome.

Match Preview: Udinese 0-2 AS Roma Predictions and Betting Tips, Spain (Italy – Serie A)

Udinese – AS Roma Tips & Predictions For Today, February 17, 2018.
League: Italy – Serie A
Kick-off: 15:00
Tip: Under 3.5 Goals
Odd: 1.40
Bookmaker: bwin
Match Result: 0:2 WON!!!

Match Preview

Udinese will hope for a revival of form in Serie A (SA) when they host a revitalised Roma side.
The hosts are at the end of a brilliant league run under Massimo Oddo which has seen them jump to the top-half of the table. Their last six league games have seen them win only once (D3, L2), after picking up six wins from seven fixtures prior to that.
Roma know all about poor form, having gone through a terrible run that saw them remain winless in seven games (D3, L4). After seemingly dropping out of title contention, the Giallorossi have picked up two consecutive wins.
Udinese’s outside hopes of getting closer to European qualification adds a distinct flavour to this contest. Their home form is a comfort however, as they are unbeaten in four games (W2, D2) in SA. Ironically, their last home loss was against Napoli in Oddo’s first game in charge.
With Inter, Roma, and Lazio separated by just two points from positions three to five, Roma will hope to cling on to their fragile top-four hopes. However, the upcoming long trip to Ukraine giants Shakhtar Donetsk and a bunch of injuries may prove to be unwanted distractions as they could be forced to field a weakened side.
Key battlesMaxi Lopez (Udinese) has four league goals against Roma, but has failed to score in his last 14 games.
Cengiz Under’s three goals and one assist have helped Roma win two games on the trot.
Stat attack: Roma have won their last nine matches against Udinese in all competitions, a run stretching back to October 2013!
Roma have lost only one of their last 18 league games (W13, D4, L1) away from home.
Edin Dzeko has been involved in five goals (three goals, two assists) in his five league games against Udinese.
