This round 24 La Liga (LL) clash will see two of the rookies and surprise packages of the current season face-off. Only separated by two points, Girona and Leganés are in the safety zone of the LL table, and both have an eye on the European placings.
With their defeat last weekend at Sevilla (1-0), the Catalan side put an end to their four-match unbeaten streak. Luckily for them, they are back at home where they have won the last three clashes.
Leganés are still strong in defence and have conceded just one goal in the last two fixtures. However, they haven’t scored a goal in the last three matches – and no goals scored in the last 304 minutes of play.
Girona only signed one player in the winter transfer window (‘Choco’ Lozano) and rarely rotate their squad – so it is to be seen if this strategy will payoff, or instead lead to fatigue nearer the end of the season.
Players to watch: When Girona play at home, there’s a name that will pop up on the scoreboard almost for sure. We’re talking about Cristhian Stuani, who has netted in the last seven home matches (more than 72%).
On the contrary, Leganés don’t have a top scorer that they depend on every match, instead they rely on a collective effort from the team. Experienced defender José Zaldúa, back after missing the last match through suspension, will be vital to his side’s hopes of victory.
Stat attack: Girona haven’t conceded a goal in 270 minutes at the Montilivi stadium, during which they have netted nine times.
The last away win for Leganés was back in mid-October away to Málaga (2-0).

Tip: Home Win
Odd: 1.30
Bookmaker: William Hill
Match Result: 4:0 WON!!!

Match Preview

High-flying Monaco will be looking to confirm second-place in the Ligue 1 standings in this round 26 encounter, whilst Dijon will look to continue their good recent form and continue to pull themselves out of the lower-part of the table.
In three previous meetings at Stade Louis II in all competitions, Monaco have won two and the other game was drawn. Indeed, le Rocher is an unhappy hunting ground for Dijon, as they have never won even a single league game there.
After sharing the points at Marseille in round 23 in a 0-0 draw, Monaco reacted well with two straight victories in the league against Lyon (3-2), and away to Angers (4-0).
Despite having the worst defence in the league with 48 goals conceded so far, Dijon are sitting 12th in the L1 standings. After two straight losses on the road against PSG (8-0) and Strasbourg (3-2), Olivier Dall’Oglio’s Dijon responded strongly with two straight home wins against Rennes (2-1) and Nice (3-2).
Players to watch: Monaco’s Senegalese striker Baldé Keita has scored seven goals and delivered two assists so far this season. Currently in-form, he scored two goals in his last two matches in the league.
On the other hand, Dijon’s outstanding player this season so far has been Julio Tavares who has nine goals and two assists in Ligue 1. The Cape Verdean’s recent form has been impressive, with five goals in his last four L1 matches.
Stat attack: Leonardo Jardim’s men have the second-best home attack in the league, scoring 36 goals in 13 home L1 matches so far. The Monegasque have lost only one of their last 23 L1 home games (W20, D2, L1).
Dijon are winless in 18 of their last 19 away fixtures in the league (W1, D5, L13). They are on run of six straight away losses in L1, conceding at least two goals in their last five.

Match Preview

Two of the strongest sides left in the competition face off as RB Leipzig travel to the Stadio San Paolo to compete with an in-form Napoli side, in what looks to be a very competitive last-32 Europa League match.
This is the only game of the round which features two teams dropping down from the Champions League. Napoli are previous winners of the UEFA cup whilst RB Leipzig are in their debut season on the European stage!
These two sides have never met and this game represents Leipzig’s first game against any Italian competition. Napoli have history with German sides however, and are unbeaten in six of their nine home ties against German opposition in Europe (W4, D2, L3).
Napoli are in with their biggest chance in recent years of winning their domestic title – and it is possible Sarri’s team selection may reflect that here, especially with Mertens and Milik both out.
Fans will be left wondering if Everton loanee Ademola Lookman (RBL) could have set the European stage alight – unfortunately the young Englishman is cup-tied having played in the Group Stage with his parent club.
Players to watch: José Callejon (NAP) is expected to start down the flank here and has been directly involved with 11 goals domestically so far (seven goals, four assists). Lorenzo Insigne has three goals in Europe this season and will hope to add to his tally.
Timo Werner (RBL) has already managed three goals for his side in the Champions League Group Stage – and he faces a similar challenge here against Champions League quality opposition, despite the drop down.
Stat attack: Napoli are unbeaten in 17 of their last 19 Europa League matches – however they have failed to win the home leg in three of their last five round-of-32 appearances.
Napoli are on an eight-match winning streak in Serie A – but can they translate that form here?
RB Leipzig have won just one of their last five domestic away games.

Match Preview: AEK Athens FC 1-1 Dynamo Kyiv Predictions and Betting Tips, Europa League (Round of 32)

AEK Athens FC – Dynamo Kyiv Tips & Predictions For Today, February 15, 2018.
League: Europa League – Round of 32
Kick-off: 21:05
Tip: X2
Odd: 1.61
Bookmaker: Unibet
Match Result: 1:1 WON!!!

Match Preview

AEK Athens will have an uphill battle on their hands in the first leg of their Europa League (EL) round-of-32, when they host an in-form Dynamo Kiev.
The ‘draw specialist’ hosts qualified second from Group D behind AC Milan with eight points, after staying unbeaten in the campaign. That was the joint-lowest tally of the 24 qualifiers, but they remained one of just four qualifiers to go undefeated. The other three qualified as winners!
Dynamo cruised through their Group B with two games to spare, eventually ending up with five points more than their nearest group qualifiers. They scored 15 goals in the group stage, a return that was bettered only by Zenit (17) and Real Sociedad (16).
AEK are on a 22-match unbeaten run (W15, D7) in all competitions with their last loss coming way back in October ’17. In Europe, they are on an eight-match unbeaten run (W2, D6) with five consecutive draws highlighting their run.
The visitors have kept five clean sheets in their last six trips in all competitions. The worry for Dynamo, though, is the fact that their last competitive fixture was in December ’17.
Key battles: AEK will hope that Lazaros Christodoulopoulos continues his good form – three goals in his last four outings.
Moraes (Dynamo) has five goals to his name in the last three games for the club.
Stat attack: AEK kept five clean sheets in their last eight EL games.
This is the first time in four attempts that AEK have qualified from the group stage to the knockouts.
This is the first European encounter between these sides. AEK have never faced a Ukrainian team before while Dynamo have a positive record against Greek clubs, although two of their wins came in the mid-1970s.

Match Result: 2:2 WON!!!

The challenging Europa League (EL) is back – with Real Sociedad and Salzburg competing for a chance to qualify for next year’s Champions League.
Real Sociedad’s domestic season has been up-and-down so far. After a strong start, they have just gained a meagre three points in their last six domestic matches. The EL might be a good outlet for the Basque side to recover their good form from last season.
As for Austrian side RB Salzburg, they advanced to the round of 32 unbeaten and as group winners, conceding just one goal (W3, D3). In their domestic competition, they sit first and have lost just one match.
With William José out injured (four goals in the last four clashes in La Liga), Real Sociedad are on the lookout for a striker who can replace José’s goals.
After the painful 5-2 loss at the Bernabéu, captain Xabi Prieto nervously said that Sociedad are now focused on this all-important clash: “It was very hard for us to qualify for EL, it is a very exciting game”.
In 2011/12, Salzburg conceded the fourth-highest aggregate loss in all EL history, after they lost 4-0 and 4-1 versus Metalist Kharkiv.
Players to watch: Asier Illarramendi is, without doubt, the one in charge of pulling the strings for Real Sociedad. He’s now emerged as a scorer with three goals in his last two La Liga matches.
Salzburg and Austrian Bundesliga’s top scorer Munas Dabbur has been critical for Salzburg’s qualification, scoring roughly 43% of his team’s goals.
Stat attack: This game will be the first time that ‘Los Txuri-Urdin’ and Salzburg have met.
Together with Zenit, Bergamo and AEK, the Austrian side are the only team to advance to the knockout phase undefeated, gaining 12 points in the group phase.

League: Europa League – Round of 32

Tip: Home Win
Odd: 1.51

Match Result: 3:0 WON!!!

Match Preview

Braga were finalists of this competition back in 2011, but lost out to Porto in an all-Portuguese final. If they are to get anywhere near the final this year, they must first vanquish Marseille.
This round of 32 first leg game will be the third clash between the two sides in the history of the Europa League. Braga lost this fixture 1-0 in the 2015/16 Europa League group stage, and with away goals crucial, another failure for Braga to score here is asking for trouble.
From six home games against Portuguese sides in European competition, Marseille show a balanced home record that currently stands at W3, D1, L2, GF 9, GA 8.
Braga’s only other tie against French opposition took place in the 2008/09 UEFA Cup round of 16, against PSG. Braga lost 1-0 at home after drawing 0-0 at le Parc des Princes and bowed out.
However, Abel Ferreira’s side come into game into this game with much confidence, having finished first in a difficult Group C, while also outscoring their opponents with an unmatched nine goals in the group stage.
Players to watch: Marseille’s French international midfielder Florian Thauvin is in great form this season with 14 goals and ten assists so far – the second-best assists total in Marseille’s domestic league (Ligue 1).
He will go head-to-head with 25-year-old Portuguese striker Joao Paulo Dias Fernandes who has seven goals and one assist for Braga in the Liga NOS.
Stat attack: Marseille are unbeaten at home in the EL this season (W4, D1), but no other club has received more red cards than Marseille, who are currently on three.
Braga’s matches are usually high scoring affairs, with more than 2.5 goals (total) scored in nine of their last ten games in all competitions. They have also conceded at least one goal in each of their last 11 away matches in the EL.
